A vestibule space is essentially a transitional space. As apartment dwellers, we do not spend much time within these interiors, but they are vital in security (hopefully) and weather protection. This vestibule, found on East 18th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues is small in square footage, but has enough character to put many new building's vestibules to shame. I was drawn to ceiling of this space. The crown moldings are both intricate and posed a challenge for my first attempts at constructed drawings. After taking measurements of everything measurable within the space, I searched for the best way to represent this space's unique grandeur. Through conic perspective and a multi-view constructed drawing the space comes to life on the page.
